If You Know Me, You Know I Love Music — All of It

If you know me, you already know one thing for sure: I love music.
All genres. No limits. No labels.

From old-school soul to hip-hop, gospel to R&B, rock to country, jazz, trap, blues… if it’s got feeling, I’m listening. And the reason is simple—music protects my mental.

So take a seat and let me tell you all the ways.

Music has been there for me in moments when people couldn’t be. When my mind was loud, music spoke louder. When I didn’t have the words, a song said exactly what I was feeling—sometimes better than I ever could.

On hard days, music helps me release. I can cry, zone out, scream-sing, or just sit in silence with a melody holding me together. On good days, music amplifies my joy. It turns regular moments into memories. A song can take me back to a time, a place, or a version of myself I needed to remember.

Music also teaches empathy. Listening to different genres is like stepping into someone else’s world. Their pain, their culture, their love, their survival. It reminds me I’m not alone—and neither is anyone else.

Some songs feel like therapy sessions. Some feel like prayer. Some feel like motivation to keep going when giving up feels easier. Music doesn’t judge where you are mentally—it meets you there.

That’s why I don’t box myself into one genre. My emotions aren’t one-dimensional, so why should my playlist be? One day, I need something soft. Another day, I need something aggressive. Some days I need healing. Some days I need hype. And music gives me permission to feel all of it.

So yes, I’m a music lover. Not just because it sounds good—but because it saves me in ways I don’t always know how to explain.

Protect your mental.
Let the music do what it does best. 🎶🖤
